Pre-opened bags on a roll or Auto bags as they are sometimes called, are designed to work on vertical bagging machines such as our Speedpack range. They are pre-formed to size and open on one side to allow products to be loaded directly into the open bag using a bagging machine. The bagging machine will seal and separate the loaded bag from the rest of the reel once it’s been filled either by an operator or an infeed system. It is critical to use quality bags on a roll that are machine ready as the bagging system is only as good as the bags it is running.
Yes, our bags are made from LDPE material and are fully recyclable. Furthermore, at Severn Packaging we committed to supplying all our bags with post-consumer recycled content where possible. For demanding and sensitive medical applications, we can supply quality post-industrial recycled content or virgin film options for ultimate traceability purposes. We manufacture all our bags in the UK to keep the carbon footprint to a minimum.

Yes, but firstly it depends what you mean by eco-friendly? Whilst we can supply various material types such as biodegradable, compostable and sugar cane, they often come with drawbacks and limitations such being non-recyclable or require impractical conditions to decompose. We take a holistic approach to the materials we supply and believe the standard film option if used and recycled correctly is perfectly aligned with today’s sustainability requirements, but we can offer alternatives if required.
